Roz Barr Architects was asked to prepare a proposal for the fashion label ‘Victoria Beckham’ for the design of a prototype for a clothes and display rails. We have created a modular system of components. The clothes rail and display rail are configured from the same components but differ in their arrangement to fulfil the brief.

The display rail is a space frame divided by 4no. horizontal equidistant rails. The proposed shelves of varying modular sizes, allow for different configurations of display to be updated and varied season to season. These shelves can be made in a variety of materials. They combine to form the perfect square.

Mirrored stainless steel was the material chosen for the design for the pop-up store in London department store, Harrods.

The pop-up space was arranged around a 4.5m x 4.5m custom made rug. A series of square shelving units were recessed into perimeter walls to display the collection of accessories. The square rug was divided into a triangulated pattern of different textures of cut pile or looped wool.
