Emerson College

Emerson College

United Kingdom, 2012

We were short listed for the master plan for Emerson College, Forest Row which is a Rudolf Steiner College.

As one of 6 invited architectural practices we proposed a phasing sequence and plan to reconfigure and develop this green belt site and offer an international facility for Steiner education within the colleges ambition.

The brief included new key worker housing, student residences, and a new international storytelling building and art studios. We proposed a plan that would offer the college a new piazza and engage the existing buildings with new openings and connections to offer better connectivity between site and the building programmes. Although we will not lead the master plan we have been commissioned to design the central building to the site which will be the new International Centre for Storytelling and remain involved with the plans.
